Below is a map of recent US underage prostitution arrests across 37 cities. The map was provided by the Village Voice. This group bumps the current estimates against the legal arrests. While I am glad to see the current figures, I certainly find it revealing of our inability to protect the youth. Don’t we need a more aggressive approach when it comes to getting the word out, providing legitimate resources, and allowing for the safety so that more youth will come forward? How can we better identifiy with actual victims? It is my humble opinion that the gap between the two figures is the data we should be focused on improving.
